Taiwan Advocates for UN participation抗疫有成！台灣持續爭取加入聯合國

Taiwan is not yet a member of the United Nations, but it aspires to participate. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said the country will continue to advocate for UN participation this year with successful pandemic prevention results.

Taiwan has been barred from participation in the UN since 1971, but MOFA wishes to garner support from the global community and use its internationally praised coronavirus measures as leverage.

Three main requests this year are: inclusion in the UN, eligibility to attend Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) conferences, and access to UN events for media and Taiwanese citizens.

另外，片語”devil’s advocate” 惡魔的倡議者、魔鬼代言人，意思就是「假意反對的人、故意唱反調的人」，意思不是負面的，而是說出真話、或是故意提出反面觀點、激發討論的目的，對於團體反而有正面的公用。
