英文字彙》meander、mosey、sashay…

想要精進英文力的好方法之一，就是嘗試用多元的字彙，來描述同一類事情，例如我們講「走路」的中文時候，腦海裡會浮現出「步行」、「閒逛」等字詞；來幫大家補充一些「走路」的相關英文字彙。

meander 漫步–to walk somewhere in a slow relaxed way rather than take the most direct way possible.

E.g. I thought we would just meander around the city park and chat.

例句：我們可以繞著都會公園邊散步邊聊天。

mosey 遛達–to walk somewhere in a slow relaxed way – used humorously.

E.g. I feel out of it today. I think I’ll mosey back to bed.

例句：我今天昏沉沉的，想遛回床上躺一下。

sashay 大搖大擺地走–to walk in a confident way, moving your body from side to side, especially so that people look at you.

E.g. She wants to show off her new dress. Look at the way she sashays around the house.

例句：她想要炫耀新買的衣服，看她在家裡走路的方式多大搖大擺啊。

hustle 趕緊–to hurry in doing something or going somewhere.

E.g. I have to hustle to get this to the post office before it closes.

例句：我得趕緊在郵局關門前把這東西寄出去。

dash 急奔–to go or run somewhere very quickly.

E.g. The girl dashed across the road.

例句：小女生快跑過馬路。

make haste 趕快–to hurry or do something quickly; haste- great speed in doing something, especially because you do not have enough time.

E.g. We’d better make haste if we want to get to the theater before the movie begins.

例句：我們如果想在電影開始前就到戲院的話就得快一點。
