西餐和中餐禮儀大不同!台灣人普遍喜歡享受聚餐的歡樂氣氛,喜歡合菜多人分食,往往太過熱情的幫外國友人夾菜,殊不知無形中忽略了禮節,有些外國友人面對此熱情舉動,反而會覺得自己被當成小孩,感覺奇怪等等。其實東西文化不分對錯,只要注意彼此的文化差異並互相尊重,還是能享用一場國際美味筵席!

When Food is Served
當上菜時

The host should always be served last at a dinner party. Don’t start eating before your host does, unless they have insisted that you start. When you are in a restaurant, wait until everyone is served before beginning to eat.

晚宴主人應該最後上菜。除非主人堅持,否則不要先用餐。去餐廳用餐,要等大家的餐點都到了再開始用餐。

Always say please when asking for something, and be sure to say thank you to your busboy after they have removed any used items.

要求別人協助時,務必說「請」。服務生來收桌面時,記得說「謝謝」。

姿勢

Keep your elbows off the table and keep your left hand on your lap, unless you are using it.

不要將手肘放在餐桌上,沒事時將左手放在大腿上。

Don’t blow on your food to cool it off, and don’t talk with your mouth full. Eat in small bites and eat slowly. Cut only enough food for the next mouthful. If your food is too hot to eat, take the hint and wait.

不要將您的食物吹涼。嘴裡有食物時不要說話。小口慢吃。以一口吃的量來切取食物。若食物過燙,稍等一下再吃。
