端午節： The Dragon Boat Festival

農曆五月五日是端午節，與春節、中秋並列為最重要的三個節慶。端午節時值夏季，也是疾病開始流行的季節，因此端午節的由來，可追溯為「驅邪避惡」，以求身心的平安。以下來學習一些跟端午節有關的英文字句吧！

The Dragon Boat Festival falls on the fifth of the fifth lunar month. The Dragon Boat Festival, the Chinese New Year, and the Moon Festival are the three important holidays in Chinese society. The Dragon Boat Festival comes in summer, during which time diseases start to spread. Hence, the origin of the festival is to ward off the evil, pursuing well-being.

♥端午香包： Sachets♥

香包是一種吉祥的避邪物，用各種顏色的綢布做成囊狀，裡面放置香料，便是香包。Sachets are auspicious talismans. They are made out of silk cloth of various colors, with a sac-like shape with spices inside.

♥划龍舟：dragon boat races♥

是需要體力與團隊合作的一項運動。近來許多外國團隊也會在端午節飛到台灣，一起參與這項熱鬧盛事。Dragon boat races require strength and teamwork. In recent years, many foreigners have joined the events here in Taiwan on the Dragon Boat Festival.

♥白蛇傳說：the legend of the white snake♥

白蛇為了報恩，化身為人並與恩人結為夫妻，傳說中，端午節當天白蛇誤喝雄黃酒，差點現出蛇形。In return for a favor, the white snake turned into a woman and married her benefactor. Legend has it that the snake drank the realgar wine by mistake on the Dragon Boat Festival and barely maintained the human form.
