1. locate發現– to find the exact position of something

I located the problem of the webpage.

我找到網頁的問題了。

2. sift  翻看– to separate something from other things

You’ll probably find your keys if you sift through your purse.

你翻一下錢包搞不好就會找到鑰匙。

3. pry  刺探– to try to find out details about someone else’s private life in an impolite way

I don’t mean to pry but are you feeling okay?

我沒有要刺探隱私的意思，但你現在還好嗎？

4. scour  搜尋– to search very carefully and thoroughly through an area, a document, etc.

I scoured the office for my wallet but it is still missing.

我找遍了辦公室還是找不到皮夾。

5. forage搜尋– to go around searching for food or other supplies

He foraged the kitchen for something good to eat.

他在廚房裡找好吃的東西。

6. track down  追查到– to find someone or something that is difficult to find by searching or looking for information in several different places
